Welcome to Lola Lactation
Lactation Consultant | Registered Midwife
You deserve support that meets you where you are
Hi, I’m Lola Dexter, a midwife and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) offering inclusive, evidence-based, trauma-informed feeding and postnatal support.
Feeding your baby is deeply personal. It can be beautiful, and it can also be unexpectedly hard, particularly after a challenging birth. You’re not meant to navigate it alone.
I support families during pregnancy, through early feeding challenges, and as feeding changes over time. I have a particular interest in caesarean birth support, protecting early bonding, and helping feeding feel more manageable in the early days.
Every feeding journey looks different. Whether you’re breastfeeding, chestfeeding, pumping, bottle-feeding, or combining approaches, I’ll support your goals with practical, non-judgemental care.
Let’s make a plan that works for you and your baby.
Appointments are available at my consultation room in The Rose Clinic, Bray, or as home visits across Wicklow, South Dublin, and North Wexford.
What I Offer
In-home, at my clinic or virtual support to help with what you need: latch and positioning, supply, nipple pain, weight concerns, breastfeeding complications, tongue tie questions and more. I meet you where you are with empathy and expertise.
Feel Informed, Calm, and Confident Before Baby Arrives
A relaxed, one-to-one session for you and your partner in the comfort of your home or from my consultation room. This class aims to help you feel informed and confident before baby arrives. We’ll cover the basics of breastfeeding/chestfeeding, how to position and latch, what to expect in the early days, how to know baby is feeding well and much more. You will have plenty of time for questions and individualised advice.
Includes printed quick guide of all my top tips and a 60+page booklet on everything the class covers and more.
Join a small, welcoming group for a practical, down-to-earth session on all things infant feeding. We’ll explore how feeding works in the early days, how to get a good latch, what’s normal (and what’s not), and ways your partner or support person can help. Perfect for first-time parents or anyone looking for clarity and confidence before baby arrives. Includes a take-home resource pack and space for questions in a relaxed, friendly setting.
